Well, I received an email this past week (via You Tube) from River Phoenix. Apparently, he wants me to take down a compilation album featuring Aleka’s Attic’s music.

The copyright strike is actually being issued by the channel, Launch Left, which is run by River’s sister, Rain Phoenix. I guess she knows who I am after all.
I found the compilation album seven years ago on a channel called Darling Phenylethylamine. Although I didn’t recognize the importance of the name back then, I suspected that the channel/album was created or maintained by somebody close to the Phoenix clan. How else would they have access to his music?
To be clear, phenylethylamine (often called PEA) is an organic compound found in the human body that stimulates the central nervous system via neurotransmitters and chemicals in the brain. Here, wrapped up in this one unpronounceable word, we have everything discussed on this website – Johnny Depp’s band “P” that played at the Viper Room the night River died, the brain, neurotransmitters, and connecting to a dying god – PEA brings us back to the beginning.
At the start of this thing, when all of those blog comments and synchronicities sent me over the edge, Darling Phenylethylamine or DP was one of the first commenters. This is all discussed in My Memoir, so, without further ado, as the last puzzle piece falls into place, here they are (some of them anyway) in all their glory.
