The events leading up to River’s death form an intriguing timeline of strange and impossible coincidences. Beginning with his movie, Stand By Me, and ending with his unfinished film, Dark Blood, River’s life begins to resemble a neatly-polished Hollywood script. As we will see, the workings of the spirit world and the trappings of the birdcage are painfully evident throughout his short life.
Stand By Me
Stand by Me was the devil’s DNA for River. Based on a short story by Stephen King, the movie depicts four boys in search of the dead body of their schoolmate Ray Brower. They discover him in the woods near Back Harlow road where he was struck by a train picking blueberries and knocked right out of his blue Keds. In the Masonic system, the color blue represents prophecy. It is the color of water, which, in the Bible, represents the Word of God:
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,” (Ephesians 5:25-26 KJV)
It is also the color of the sky, symbolic of the spirit realm, or what some would call, the fourth dimension. In terms of light, the color blue (or blue light) has a high-energy, short wavelength ranging from 400-450 nanometers. Most blue light comes from the sun as well as electronics. So, here we have the fourth dimension (demonstrated by wavelength) or the realm of the golden gods. Here, we have the Masonic light.
At the end of the film, Ace and Eyeball Chambers arrive with their gang and attempt to lay claim to finding Ray’s body. River’s character, Chris Chambers, disputes the issue and is nearly killed when Ace puts a knife to his throat. He is saved at the last instant when his best friend, Gordie, fires off a gun.
Fast forward to the future when the four friends are adults, we find out that Chris is killed while trying to break up a knife fight in a restaurant. To quote the film, “He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly.” So, Chris Chambers comes full circle and finally meets his fate dying from a knife wound. The name “Chris” is derived from the word “Christian” meaning “a follower of Christ,” “Christ-bearer” or “the anointed.” Thus, River’s character is the anointed hanged man. His last name “Chambers” means a private room or space. In other words, Chris Chambers, i.e., River Phoenix is the keeper and the temple of the word. He, like Ray Brower, is the hanged man or the dying god.

Will Smith as the hanged man from I Am Legend. Notice, also, his German Shepherd staring up at him. The dog represents the word in his flesh, his fate, the law, or, more specifically, the curse. To the right is the Hanged Man tarot card.
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:" (Galatians 3:13 KJV)
Ray Brower hangs on a tree just as the figure from the Hanged Man tarot card. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ follows scripture as he is the Word of God. The cup that he is given, his fate, is to hang on the wooden cross, die for mankind’s sins, and be resurrected three days later. Flip that upside down and you have the workings of this occult system. Victims’ lives follow “the word” which equates to their movies, books, music, etc., thus the concept, life imitates art. It is an absolute perversion of the gospel of Christ, turning his repeated phrase “it is written” into a curse. Of course, none of this becomes possible until victims are passed through the fire. In Stand By Me, this curse is symbolized by The Blue Point Diner.
In this beginning scene, the news from the blue light spectrum (the electric gods or golden gods) is represented by The Blue Point Diner.
At the beginning of the film, Chris and Gordie fire off a gun outside of the Blue Point Diner. This can be thought of as the starting gun or the point at which the clock begins its countdown. The boys flee and a waitress runs outside, yelling, “Hey, who’s letting cherry bombs off out here?” The cherry bomb is a veiled reference to being passed through the fire unto a dying god. But that’s just the first layer of symbolism.
Cherry Bomb not only represents red blood cells (which somewhat resemble cherries) but also the stretching open of a female’s hymen. Often associated with one’s virginity, breaking the hymen or “popping the cherry” (like a cherry bomb) will sometimes result in bleeding. This concept symbolizes being passed through the fire by means of sexual stimulation. The victim/initiate has lost their virginity (so to speak) and is now connected to the blue light spectrum, the fourth dimension, or the realm of the golden gods.
The fact that it’s a diner also holds significance. Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body, and after passing through the fire (when the cherry bomb explodes), they also provide sustenance to the dying gods. Like feeding the vampire, the victim/initiate “bleeds” by means of the sugar-phosphates in their blood (glucose or “sweet wine”). They are now linked in to this invisible world, their DNA like an invisible ladder, descending and ascending, providing fuel to the dying gods through electromagnetic waves.
In the next scene the two bullies, Ace and Eyeball, confront Chris and Gordie on the sidewalk outside of a pool hall. Ace knocks Chris to the ground, face first, and holds a cigarette to his face as his brother (Eyeball Chambers) and Gordie stand by watching. Chris’ sleeping bag is still draped across his shoulder.
Here’s the translation: the pool hall (or bar) equals the Viper Room; Ace (dressed in all black) equals the word; the cigarette equals being passed through the fire; and the sleeping bag equals death. River collapsed on the sidewalk outside of the Viper Room (face first, according to reports) surrounded by his friends and family, including his brother. But that’s just the first layer of symbolism.
The sleeping bag also represents River as the dying god, alive but dead in a sort of cocooned state. The lit cigarette also exemplifies this concept. Like the phoenix bird set on fire and reborn through the ashes, he was killed by the hidden hands of the golden gods and reborn as one of them.
And then we have the bully, Ace Merrill. A playing card with a single spot on it, an ace is ranked as the highest card in its suit in most card games. It represents the writing on the wall, the fruit of the word, or the spot on the subconscious mind. His last name, Merrill, means shining sea or of the bright sea, and so we have another reference to the light of the golden gods. In essence, we have the godhead. The evil eye of the golden gods (Eyeball Chambers), the fruit of the word (Ace), and the word (Gordie) coming together as one.
Gordie Lachance represents the word in the blood. In his red shirt, he stands in front of the window with a water canteen draped across his shoulder. The name “Gordon” means “from the three cornered hill” (these three as one), and the last name “Lachance” equates to fortune. Thus, Gordie (or more to the point, Stand By Me) is the fortune-teller or the writer of River’s DNA. The film is, after all, told through Gordie’s perspective. He is also standing right next to the triangle or ball rack on the window – another reference to the godhead or the fulfillment of the word. The window represents the fourth dimension or the spirit world. It is the light of the golden gods reflected back into the subconscious mind.
The Forest for the Trees
In the picture featured below, this reflected light can be seen in the forest when the four boys discover the dead body of Ray Brower. It appears like graffiti on the trees as the forest reveals faces within faces as well as cartoon caricatures. The images morph in and out of one another forming a variety of characters, none of which look happy. Other than the brightness, the screenshot has not been doctored.
On the far left tree we see a skunk that resembles Pepé Le Pew from Looney Tunes. Pepé Le Pew is a cartoon character who is always in search of love and in constant pursuit of a female black cat named Penelope Pussycat (the golden god). He represents the coming together of two worlds, a process done through fornication, or a sex ritual if you will, which is why he’s always in search of “love.” He represents the initiate with his red nose signifying the oxygen or red blood cells provided to the dying god. He also represents the writing on the wall, the black fire coming together with the white fire, or more to the point, the subconscious mind vs the conscious mind. He symbolizes the fruit of the word written on the table of the heart.
“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jeremiah 31:33 KJV)
Take the above verse and flip it upside down. It is the covenant with another god, the supposed contract with the devil written in the inward parts of his victims. In turn, these victims become as gods themselves, graven images worshipped by the next round of victims.
To the left of the skunk’s head is a heart outlined in white in the center of a boy’s chest. The boy appears to be in blackface theatrical makeup with white eyes and a white oval mouth. He represents the initiate who saw his own shadow, his white eyes and white oval mouth symbolizing the fruition of the subconscious mind (the boy or child). His heart outlined in white also symbolizes the hidden word written on the table of his heart. After seeing his own shadow, he passed on to become a god, the white also representing his soul or the dying god as a ghost.
On the upper part of the tree appears to be the distressed face of a boy with his round mouth morphing into the other boy’s figure, and on the tree to the right, more images morph in and out of one another. Although not circled, the image on the top right resembles a demented clown of some sort (like the Joker) with half its face missing, and below that, a child dressed in, what looks like, red coveralls with white stars. His mouth is open and he’s holding his hands to his face with a blue mask covering his eyes. Below that, although not circled, is a cat bearing a gift (the gift is white with a red ribbon), and morphing into that we see a mouse, a wide-eyed face without a mouth, and another distressed face at the bottom with their right eye missing.
The images linked together and morphing in and out of one another symbolize being linked together like a pyramid, which is the concept behind this conspiracy. The right eye missing also represents this concept, being of one mind and of one body.
The child with the blue mask (or glasses, or possibly two black eyes) signifies being blinded by the light/word of the golden gods, or seeing your own prophecy.
The cat bearing a gift symbolizes the word/prophecy of the golden god. Likewise, the gift also represents the concept of being born again after death.
The mouse symbolizes the newly born golden god in need of a home, or a human body with which to connect, hence, mouse ears. Through fornication, it is possible for your body to become in synch with someone or something else by means of the cardiac cycle and brain waves. The mouse ears, like an antenna, symbolize this concept. The face without a mouth symbolizes being dead, but not dead, and unable to communicate, which brings us to the far right tree.
The face of a troll, or gargoyle, or (to use a Bible term) satyr is seen with glowing eyes, big rosy cheeks, and a white dot covering its smiling mouth. Directly below it, a boy’s face is seen with his right eye missing and the same white dot covering his mouth. Here, we have a picture of the covering cherub, the father of these lost souls, and the binding unclean spirit. Here, we have the offspring of the giants.
“And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33 KJV)
He is the root of these trees, the familiar spirit and the godhead, the all-seeing eye at the top of the pyramid of these lost souls. Just as born-again Christians are given the gift of the Holy Ghost, victims/initiates are given the gift of an unclean spirit. And just as Christians are given a new body when we die, so too, are these lost souls, except theirs is a body of flesh. Theirs is a body out of this world, created in the likeness of their gods, the aliens. They are the familiar spirits of these dying gods.
“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.” (Psalms 115:4-8 KJV)
The images burned onto these trees tell a story: Pepé Le Pew as the initiate connecting with a dying god through fornication; the binding contract burned into the flesh; the fruition of that contract and the loss of the soul; being born-again of corruptible flesh – it tells the story of Eve eating the forbidden fruit and becoming as god. It tells the story of the sons of God mating with the daughters of men. It tells the story of Satan and his plan to be like the most High. Satan, like lightning, falling from heaven, which is the meaning behind the glowing white dot on the mouths. They communicate not through their throats but through electricity, like lightning, penetrating the brain after being passed through the fire into a cursed tree.
In the picture below, we have an illustration of River, literally, being grafted into that tree.
The screenshot is from the junkyard scene where the four boys are spitting water into a rusted tin can. River is seated in front of an old blue truck with the number 236 written on it along with a splotch of white paint. This is yet another prophecy predicting River’s fate roughly eight years before it came to pass. It tells the how and when River will ultimately die – from passing through the fire on Halloween of 1993. The freeze-frame of him spitting out the water symbolizes the completion of the water cycle and the fruition of the word. Likewise, it also represents being passed through the fire (a terrifying experience accompanied with a feeling of rapid dehydration.)
Above the number 236, we see two strips of white paint that resemble a road or a sidewalk which is where River collapsed outside of the Viper Room. So, here we have the word (the water), the unclean spirit (the blue chariot), and the blood (River) agreeing in one. Here, we have the water cycle completing its course as River (like Chris Chambers) comes full circle and meets his fate.
The white splotch of paint can be thought of as a planchette, or a Ouija pointer. Ouija boards are, of course, used to communicate with spirits. The planchette points to the number 36 while the clear area of the planchette points to the number 3. To put this as simply as possible (as I am no mathematician), the number 36 represents the fulfillment of River’s fate or coming around full circle. It is also symbolic of the Masonic square and compass. 36 is both the square of 6 and a triangular number, making it a square triangular number. It is the only triangular number (other than 1) whose square root is also a triangular number. It is also a circular number, which is a square number that ends with the same integer by itself (6×6=36), thus, River will come around full circle as the hanged man, Chris Chambers. The triangle = the godhead. The square = the body. The circle = the water cycle.
We see this concept exemplified in the masonic square and compass. The compass points down (the water from the golden gods), the square points up (the water in the blood), and the middle “G” represents the godhead or the coming together of the two. The sum of the integers from 1 to 36 is 666 — the number of the beast. In other words, River will come full circle and meet his fate on the Devil’s night (Halloween). The number 23 in 236 represents how old he was when he died. The full number, 236, represents his evolutionary tree and the creation of a new man.
The Apple and the birdcage
